I don’t know about you, but I love playing with food. Lately I find myself experimenting with a lot of new foods and ingredients. I’ve always enjoyed being in the kitchen and trying out new recipes, especially appetizers, desserts, and fancy little hors d’oeuvres for parties and just hanging out with friends. For some reason, now I’m really getting into it!
Maybe it’s because I’m more tuned in to the importance of whole body health. You know ~ body, mind, and spirit and the connection between them. Just a few years ago, people would’ve thought it crazy to imagine such a thing. Now just look at all of the books, websites, magazines, summits, webinars, courses, and the list goes on and on. How can what you think, eat and believe have anything to do with the other aspects? Seems there really is something to it.
Maybe it’s what I’ve been learning about the health benefits of a living foods lifestyle. For the past five and a half years I’ve eaten only plant foods on a regular basis, but mostly my meals have been cooked. Today my plant-based menus are more often raw, living foods, between 90-95%, and I’m pretty happy with that. The health benefits that come from eating uncooked, organic plant foods are numerous.
It may also have a lot to do with all the science-based research that is coming out with real gusto. Much of the “new evidence” is actually decades old, which kinda makes you wonder why we weren’t told about it sooner. Hmmm…
The good news is that not only have more and more doctors begun to listen to this research, but also started to agree that just maybe there are some effective alternatives to drugs, surgery, and yes…even death in a lot of cases. Many doctors are making lifestyle changes in their own lives as well as recommending the same for their patients. I see this as real progress, and it encourages me to continue on my living foods expedition. It truly is a journey – a daily one.
How about you? Where are you in your personal meal plan and/or health journey? Do you find certain areas in which you struggle more than others?
I’d love to know your thoughts and, as always, with any questions or concerns you might have. I’m here to help, and I’ll be coming around a lot more often!
Till next time
